Pacific Island Countries are very small in geographic space, in population and in administrative capacity – factors limiting the feasibility for development of effective country-based systems for environmental and social risk management

This report assesses the impacts of climate change from a world-wide to a regional view of ecosystems and biodiversity, and of humans and their diverse societies, cultures, and settlements.

Cumulative impacts are changes to the environment caused by an action (i.e., project/s) in combination with other past, present, and future human actions.

The Shared Approach is intended to benefit the Pacific Island Countries through supporting and strengthening country safeguard/environmental and social systems; improving development effectiveness through the implementation of common methods, procedures and terminology; and refining counterpart understanding of PRIF development partner processes.
